The guitar continues to develop as an instrument today along with advancements in new  technologies  and  production  techniques. Despite its short history, though, tradition governs the industry. Guitar Head Plates Indian rosewood peghead veneer, or more succinctly, headplate. For retail orders we sand them to .125″ leaving a little room for cleanup. The above peghead of an 8-string classical with Rogers tuners belongs to a guitar made by Jeffrey Elliott.  Usually Indian rosewood is not so dark, but we do find it from time to time.
