Guitar Head Plates Indian rosewood peghead veneer, or more succinctly, headplate. For retail orders we sand them to .125″ leaving a little room for cleanup. The above peghead of an 8-string classical with Rogers tuners belongs to a guitar made by Jeffrey Elliott.  Usually Indian rosewood is not so dark, but we do find it from time to time.
